Web Video Spokesperson

December 20, 2008

As I review the different post I have written, I wonder what more can be said.  Sometimes its important to just go back to the basics.  Almost two years ago when we first started helping companies add a live spokesperson to their website, it was so unique and different that the gimmick itself was all that was necessary.  Some even called it an annoying fad. Many said it would never catch on.

Its funny that many of those critics are now changing their minds.  Many are beginning to see that a spokesperson is not only interesting and eye catching, but helpful to the entire web experience.   Yeah, well believe it or not some people thought the Internet wouldn’t catch on either.

So, if you are looking for a way to make you website perform better, thrown on a live spokersperson and see the immediate difference.  There arent many things you can add to your wesbsite that can immediately produce results.  No waiting for months for SEO to kick in.  It starts the moment your video splokesperson is installed.

7 tips for a Website Video Spokesperson

November 30, 2008

A Website Video Spokesperson can be used on nearly any website.  The purpose of the Website Video Spokesperson can be to welcome, instruct, introduce, or influence.  Whatever you need your spokesperson to do, here are 7 tips for geting the most out of your Website Video Spokesperson.

  1. Keep the script short.  You may get people clicking away if you go too long.
  2. Leave your audience wanting more.  Most website owners think they need to tell visitors everything right then.
  3. Use the Website Video Spokesperson to lead visitors to the next page.
  4. Dress Appropriately.  In most cases a professional look is best.  Think about what will match with your site and what would please your visitors.
  5. Speak Clearly.  Make sure that you don’t have your spokesperson talk too fast.
  6. Use Hands.  It looks unnatural for a spokesperson to never move their hands or to use them too much.  Find a good balance.  Have the spokesperson point to key areas of the website
  7. Use on multiple pages.  Have your Website Video Spokesperson appear on subsequent pages.

These are just a few simple tips that can help your Website Video Spokesperson be more effective in your website.  For more tips contact us a WebsiteTalkingHeads.com.  As the worlds leader in video spokespeople we can help you create the most effective video possible.

Web Spokesperson-6 secrets to video success

Web Spokesperson- The gift the keeps on giving. A web spokesperson on your website gives you movement, action and magic.  That’s right.  I said magic.  Think about it….a real person is there at your site showing people what to do.  You can be wherever you want to be… sunning at the beach, relaxing on vacation or spending time with your family. For years I have heard the claims of how websites can make money while you sleep.  I have personally experienced it for about 9 years, but I have always felt there was something missing.  I felt like I needed to be there at the site to make sure it was working and people were visiting.

What I really wanted to do was make sure that my web site made sense to my visitors.  As I sat down with a friend to show them my site, I always found myself telling them what to click on or what to look at on my websites, because I knew it was missing something.  So I visited it to check it out.  I understand now what it lacked: a WEB SPOKESPERSON

So here are 6 secrets to success with your web spokesperson

  1. DO IT.  Every second you put off getting a Web Spokesperson is another second with less money.
  2. Keep it Simple.  Your Spokesperson should try to say everything in one video.  Split it up to two to three videos on other pages
  3. Keep is Short.  Grab your visitors attention and leave them wanting more not wishing for less.
  4. Use humor.  Every is soooo serious these days.  But think about viral videos, humor gets them spread around the internet
  5. Respect your visitors intelligence.  Give them the good stuff don’t manipulate.
  6. Be direct in your instructions from the web spokesperson.  Don’t be ambigious or soft handed.  Tell your visitor want you want them to look at or do on your website.

Follow these simple rules to begin with and call Website Talking Heads to get even more tips to a great Web Spokesperson.  801-748-2281

Video Spokesperson Placement: Where should it go?

September 19, 2008

WebsiteTalkingHeads.com can place your video spokesperson wherever you want on your website.

Today one of our clients asked me where I thought they should place the video spokesperson on their website.  This is an important question and the answer is dependent on a several factors.  A Talking Head can be placed virtually anywhere you want.  I think my client was asking me what would be the most effective.

Here are a few issues.  Are you doing a full body video spokesperson or a half body?  A half body should not be place just anywhere.  Why? Well, if you place the half body video spokesperson in the middle of a page without any kind of border or line on the bottom, it will look like you have a half body floating in space.  You want the half body video talking head to have the effect that he or she is standing behind something.  So, I recommend placing it at the bottom of the window. or inside of a header.

Now where?  left, right, or center?  The video spokesperson should be placed where it can be the most seen and useful.  The most accurate anser is usually going to be on the bottom right.  This is from the simple marketing rule that we, in the Western Hemisphere read left to right, so, our eyes will naturally go the the bottom right.  This is a great plan unless you have something realy important that you want a client to see on the left.  Maybe (that’s only a maybe) it would make sense to put the video spokesperson closer to to the spot you want seen and acted on.

What about full body video spokesperson? Now where?  This style opens up even more options, but it comes back to a simple thought.  Where will the video spokesperson be the most effective.  We do you need her or him to do?  Think  it through and just make a decision.  Oh and by the way,  you can always change that location anyway so do fret too long over that.

Here are some little tidbits to be aware of:

  1. Covered Links. Wherever you place the flash talking person, be aware that you will not be ableclick on the links behind it while it plays.  Even the transparent part will block the mouse.  So, don’t cover your most essential buttons.
  2. Control Buttons. You should have an Exit and Play/Pause button on the video so that a customer can stop the video if necessary.
  3. Appropriate Size. make your video spokesperson proportionate to the rest of your site.  I have seen a few  sites where the video spokesperson was way too small.  You couldn’t see the actors face.  Facial expressions are important.

Oh yes there are more tidbits, so, check back soon.  WebsiteTalkingHeads.com would be happy to take a look at your site and recommend a plan of attack for your video.  Give us a call at 801-748-2281

Using a Video Spokesperson

September 3, 2008

What should your Video Spokesperson do for your website?

If you are considering adding a video spokesperson to your website you’re making a great decision.  A spokesperson can be that extra “pow” your looking for to push your site over the edge.  So, what should your video spokesperson do?  That’s an important question,  most people I talk to are just looking for a way to stand out from their competition, however, a spokesperson can do so much more than that.  Here are some questions to ask yourself when adding a video spokesperson.  Please review:

  • Which video spokesperson best relates to your customers?
  • If you could whisper in your website visitor’s ear, what would you tell him or her to do at your website?
  • How many times will your visitors need to come back to your website before they make a decision to do business with you?
  • What other pages on your website could use a website spokesperson whispering in their ear?
  • Is there anything creative that you could have the video spokesperson say or do?

There are more questions you can ask, these are just a few to get the conversation going.   And that really is the important thing.  Be creative, be thoughtful, be interesting. Remember, your visitors deserve it. If you help them and make it interesting they will stay longer in your website and possible become a longtime customer too.
